Description | Temporarily increases your attack power |
Strengthen is a 4th-level Red Element in Chrono Cross. After assisting the sailors on the S.S. Invincible defeat the Ghost Ship, Strengthen, and several other strong elements, Traps, Buffs and Debuffs are purchasable from the Demi-human merchants in Guldove and Marbule. Specifically, Strengthen maximizes a single ally's Attack, regardless of level allocation. Because of this, it is wasteful to set Strengthen and other Buff/Debuff Elements any higher than the level 1 allocation spot. Although this will depict the Element as being -3, no quality difference is depicted; the character with Strengthen cast on them will still receive the same boosts for several turns. As the counterpart to Weaken, Strengthen sells for 430 G. A free Strengthen can be found in Mount Pyre in a treasure chest.
Commonly and rarely, Strengthen can be stolen from Cytoplasm, while it is commonly dropped by Mamma Dingo.
In battle, Peppor, Gizmotoid, and Cat Burglar cast Strengthen as 4th level Elements. TutanShaman has Strengthen allocated twice, both as level 5 Elements (Strengthen +1)
Description
When cast, several warm-colored lights surround the target and temporarily increase their attack power.
