Description Release an army of mini-mushrooms onto your foe

Myconoids (どっきりキノコ , Dokkiri kinoko, li. Candid Mushrooms?) is Funguy's Level 7 tech in Chrono Cross. Upon learning it, Funguy gains the ability to summon his "children", that is, a battalion of tiny mushrooms to battle.

How to Obtain[edit | edit source]

After Terra Tower rises, go back to Home World where Funguy transformed in the Shadow Forest and attempt to eat the small mushroom found there. The small mushroom will then plead with Funguy not to eat it, as it claims to be the child of Funguy. Funguy will then learn this tech, as he realises the mushroom grew as a result of the spores he unknowingly released.

Description[edit | edit source]

Funguy will first kneel on the ground, before knocking his head a few times. This releases a cloud of spores, which rapidly grow into a small battalion of mini-mushrooms, with the leader waving a small flag bearing a mushroom insignia. Funguy will then stomp the ground with one foot, prompting the little mushrooms to charge forward. They then hurl themselves, one after another, at the selected target. After the initial explosions caused by the impacts each mushroom made with the target, one mushroom is observed to be left behind. The tech finishes off with this particular mushroom hurling itself at the target, dealing heavy damage in the process.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

The name of this tech is a play on the suffix "myco-", which is present in the scientific names of various species of mushrooms. The Japanese name, on the other hand, refers directly to the fact that the little mushrooms were an unexpected surprise to Funguy, who unwittingly fathered them.
