HotShot (ヒートショット Hīto shotto, lit. Heat Shot) is a tech used in Chrono Cross. This Lvl. 7 tech may only be used by Kid, and involves her using a death-blow machine designed and created by Lucca to smite a selected foe.

Kid will first look up towards the sky, and step aside as a large piece of machinery resembling a laser cannon of sorts falls and lands beside her. Kid will then kick this piece of machinery with her right foot, causing it to start up by first gathering a red-colored energy, before releasing it in a blast of red light at the selected target.
How to Obtain[edit | edit source]
Finish the events at Chronopolis. Kid will be at Hermit's Hideaway (Another World) at this point, but is unconscious. Use the Chrono Cross or Mastermune to enter her past. In the first room of this place will be a large machine by a burning clock. Pressing buttons near its front gives off a 'ding' sound. Press L2, Triangle, R2, and Triangle to get it. Thenceforward, Kid employs a lethal machine invented by Lucca to shoot molten projectiles at a single opponent.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Hot Shot is a word often used for a person with an inflated view of themselves. Its use here appears to be a pun of that colloquialism that also employs the literalness of the machine's ability to shoot warm projectiles.
