RockThrow (がんせき投げ , Gan seki nage, lit. Throw Rocks?) is Leah's Level 3 tech in Chrono Cross. Learned after gaining 3 boss stars, Leah gains the ability to literally throw large boulders at a selected target, possibly causing the Sprain status at the same time.
Description[edit | edit source]
Leah will first leap into the air to catch a large boulder with her right hand. She then proceeds to throw it forward, and as this happens, another falls from the sky. Leah will then proceed to repeat this cycle twice before landing onto the ground. The camera will then shift its focus to the selected target, whereby each boulder is observed to crash into it, one after another, and inflict fairly heavy damage.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
This ability is likely intended to be a direct reference to Ayla's Boulder Toss tech (which was officially known as "Rock Throw" in English at the time of Chrono Cross's release) - especially given that Ayla and Leah are implied to be related in some form.
