Carnivore (ヘルプラント heru puranto?, "Hell Plant") is a 5th-level Green Element in Chrono Cross. While any character can use this element, Fargo uses this element against the party when fought as a boss on S.S. Invincible. The Green Dragon will also use the element against the party when fought at Gaea's Navel if the entire field is green, making it easy to repeatedly trap if desired.

From beneath the battlefield, a colossal pair of plant-like jaws rises up and clamps all opponents within for moderate portions of damage.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]
A carnivore is a meat-eating creature of the animal kingdom. Ironically enough, however, the animation of this element depicts a Venus Flytrap, one of the only known plant carnivores. Since this element is a green element, the presence of the Flytrap is very appropriate.
