Description A burst of energy hits all enemies.

Luminaire (シャイニング , Shainingu, lit. Shining?) is a tech used in Chrono Cross. It is learned by Serge once acquiring 15 boss stars. Serge rises up into the air and causes an explosion of light to hit all enemies on the field. It can cause the status effect Fatigued. It is identical to Crono's ultimate tech from Chrono Trigger, Luminaire.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

Luminaire is an adaptation or neologism, combining words such as illumination and air to both describe that this technique involes a character rising off his feet, but also to capture the notion that this tech includes bright lights and Air/Lightning/Light/Wind Element origins.
