Description Lift up foe with nail, then drop while spinning

HoodooGuroo (刺死炎舞 , Toge shi homuramai, lit. Death-Stabbing Fire Dance?) is Mojo's Level 7 tech in Chrono Cross. Upon learning this tech, Mojoy gains the ability to use the nail driven through his body to inflict damage onto a selected target. This tech may also cause the Cursed status.

How to Obtain[edit | edit source]

Take Mojo to the fisherman's house in Arni Village (Home), then return to the village of the same name in Another World and speak to Lasey, Aurey, and Lickey the cat statues in that order.

Description[edit | edit source]

The tips of Mojoy's limbs will be set ablaze with black-colored flames as he leaps up into the air. He will then spiral down onto the selected target until the tip of his nail affixes itself onto the head of said target. Mojoy will then spin around repeatedly, much like a helicopter, and rise up into the air, taking the hapless foe with him. He will then release the foe with a sudden jerk, causing it to crash painfully onto the ground in an explosion of white light, sustaining heavy damage.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

This tech probably takes its name from the sinister practice of inserting needles into straw dolls resembling one's enemies to inflict various ailments onto them, as seen in the art of Voodoo. In this tech, Mojoy is observed to literally take this practice to a whole new level, using the nail to directly inflict damage instead. The Japanese name is derived from the flames seen while Mojoy dances around in the air, before using his nail to practically stab the foe's head.
