Confuse (also known as Chaos) is a Status Effect in Chrono Trigger. When afflicted with Confuse, the player or enemy cannot select their own actions at will. Instead, attacks are selected for them. Typically, attacks made while Confused are aimed at allies, but they occasionally strike foes as well. Afflicted party members will have rotating stars above their heads and will laugh uncontrollably. Once the battle ends or the confused party member(s) reaches a Hit Point score of zero, they are cured of Confuse. Using items such as Panacea cures a single party member of the Status Effect.
