Burn (やけど yakedo?) is a Red Element Status Effect in Chrono Cross.
When inflicted on a character, it does the following:
- In Battle, it reduces that characters physical defense by 25%.
- Outside of battle, when on the field, it causes the character to take 2 times as much damage from floors that cause damage (such as the lava on Mount Pyre).
It can be removed outside of battle with the second-level Red Element consumable Ointment, with the fourth-level White Element consumable Panacea, or by sleeping at an inn. Equipping the Poultice Cap will protect the wearer from being inflicted by this status.
