Tata (タータ?) is a character that appears in Chrono Trigger and Chrono Crisis.

Story[edit | edit source]

Chrono Trigger[edit | edit source]

In the Middle Ages, Tata lives in the small town of Porre, south of the Zenan Bridge, with his father and grandfather.

The Hero Appears[edit | edit source]

Tata finds the Hero's Badge at Denadoro Mountains after Frog dropped it, falling from the summit. Since he always wanted to be a knight, he put on the badge and paraded around with it on. Everyone, including his father, believed him to be the Hero reborn, even though he was only a child.

He is then put on course to climb the Denadoro Mountains and reclaim the Masamune to slay Magus.

Tata and the Frog[edit | edit source]

Obviously, the fiends dwelling on Denadoro Mountains overpowered Tata, and he fled. Returning home to hide under the stairwell, Crono and company found him, and Tata gave them the badge, saying he never wanted to be the hero in the first place.

Chrono Cross[edit | edit source]

A portrait of an adult Tata appears in the data of the game's demo version, but the character cannot be met in either version of the game.

Chrono Crisis[edit | edit source]

A young adult Tata was set to appear in the fangame Chrono Crisis.
