WightKnight is an Enemy and ghostly suit of armor fought in Chrono Cross. They are a spirit encased in rusted armor equipped with a large sword and shield, which guards a Golden Tiara in Isle of the Damned.
It is a good choice for Sprigg to Doppelgang and beat Janice at the Grand Slam if it is saved for the third round, especially with its 8th level Yellow Tech Skill PhysNegate, which nullifies all physical attacks for a few rounds. It is also strong against Garai and damages him greatly.
There is only a single WightKnight in the entire game, which can be found by examining a piece of armor inside a cave, just before the player reaches Garai's grave on the Isle of the Damned. Note that to enter this cave, you must lure a WillO'Wisp to the cave and defeat it, which will cause the WillO'Wisp to fall to the ground creating a fiery explosion that will burn the rubble blocking the entrance to the cave.
Battle and Strategy
The WightKnight have extremely powerful physical attacks, and generally get to act multiple times per turn. Because of this, it would be wise to keep HP high at all times.
They always use SadnessWave (lowers all party members attack) followed by SpiritsUp (increases their defense) at the start of the battle. It might be best to focus on magic attacks early in the battle until the effects of these two abilities run out since combined, they greatly decrease the potency of your party's physical attacks.
They are also capable of using Rage, which raises their attack; and WaveOfFear, which decreases defense on the entire party. When their HP is low. the WightKnight will use HiRes+3 to increase their defense.
