The JellyBlubba is an enemy appearing in Chrono Cross. JellyBlubbas are basically a mass of water that has taken on the form of a rock-like creature, complete with a pair of eyes embedded within. JellyBlubbas can only be found randomly when battling Puffies in the El Nido Triangle (Another World).

Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]

JellyBlubbas never appear alone, and always accompany at least one or two Puffies. They attack by first sliding up to their foes before smacking them with one of their watery arms, inflicting fairly heavy damage in the process. As implied from its name, the JellyBlubba is capable of utilizing a small range of Blue elements, such as AquaBall and CureAll. For players who are interested in getting the Iceberg element, they should set out the ↓Iceberg trap as soon as possible when facing off against JellyBlubbas, as they are known to cast said element in battle.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

The name of this enemy, JellyBlubba, is a play on the fact that the creature's body is mainly composed of a jelly-like substance, and hence, its name is a befitting one.

The Japanese name of this enemy, Water Core, on the other hand, seems to suggest that there is an energy core of sorts hidden within the body of the JellyBlubba, which enables the water which makes up its body to be held together in a physical form.
