The Myxomycete is an enemy fought in Chrono Cross. These organ-like creatures are maroon in color, and possess a pair of devil wings, with which they use to fly about the lower levels of the Terra Tower. Myxomycetes can be trapped in the Forget-Me-Not Pot and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg.

Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]

Myxomycetes usually appear in pairs, accompanied by pairs of Cupoids. On infrequent occasions, they are also known to appear in fours, or are accompanied by either TerraTerrors or Whoots. Myxomycetes attack by first flying up to their foes before ramming their bodies into said foes, inflicting fairly heavy damage in the process. They are also known to use a large range of White elements, of which they use Meteorite the most frequently. As Myxomycetes have lower magic defenses, elements should be used in order to take them down, especially those of the Black variety. On the whole, Myxomycetes should not pose too much of a challenge when fought, as they tend not to inflict physical attacks very often.
