The Combot is an enemy appearing in Chrono Cross. These large-sized robots are painted a deep hue of dark grey, and have weapons in-built throughout their bodies. Alongside Aero-Guards, Gizmotoids and Gyroblades, Combots patrol the interior of Chronopolis to impede the party's progress on reaching FATE. Combots can be trapped in the Forget-Me-Not Pot and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg.

Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]

Combots usually appear in pairs, but may also appear alone or accompanied by pairs of Aero-Guards. On rare occasions, Combots will appear in threes. As afore-mentioned, Combots have hidden weapons built in throughout their bodies. These weapons include little missile barrels hidden on their shoulders, rocket barrels found behind hatches on their knees, and guns in their arms. They usually perform chain attacks on their foes using these weapons, and have the potential to inflict heavy damage in just one attack alone. Combots are not able to utilize any elements, but in place of said elements, they possess two unique techs, namely, GunnerGetya and GoBallistic. Both techs are capable of inflicting heavy damage, and may even Confuse the Combot's foes.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

The Japanese name of the Combot, Barrel, refers directly to the fact that said enemy possesses quite a number of gun barrels, which are hidden throughout its body.
