The TotalChaos is an enemy fought in Chrono Cross. These dimensionally-distorted beings take on the form of a tribal painting of a monkey, brought to life by the warped nature of the Dimensional Vortex. TotalChaos can be trapped in the Forget-Me-Not Pot and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg.

Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]

TotalChaos usually appear in twos or threes, and are not known to do so alone. TotalChaos attack by using their hands to slap their foes for mediocre amounts of damage, and are able to utilize a small range of Black elements, such as FreeFall and SealAll. On the whole, TotalChaos are not very intimidating, and should not pose too much of a challenge when faced off in battle. Additionally, as they are known to cast the powerful BlackHole element, it is hence strongly recommended for the player in question to set out the ↓BlackHole trap as soon as possible in battle.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • As if to further emphasize on the twisted nature of the TotalChaos enemy, its element grid is deliberately done up to resemble an abnormal ladder of sorts.

Name Origin[edit | edit source]

The name of this enemy, TotalChaos, directly refers to the nature of the location it can be found in, which can be best described as chaotic and abnormal. As such, the name is a befitting one.

The Japanese name of this enemy, Chaos Monkey, on the other hand, is more literal, and directly refers to the monkey-like appearance of the TotalChaos itself.
