The Cupoid is an enemy appearing in Chrono Cross. Cupoids take on the form of an almost-naked, chubby human child with little angel wings. They keep their hair tied up in a bun on their heads, and their eyes are constantly closed. Garbed in nothing but a pair of pants and a glove on their right hands, Cupoids wield bows as their weapons of choice and can be found solely in the higher levels and on the peaks of Terra Tower.
Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]
Cupoids usually appear in pairs, and are usually accompanied by at least one or two Myxomycetes. On infrequent occasions, Cupoids are also accompanied by at least one Whoot in battle as well. Cupoids attack their foes by shooting light-infused arrows at them, which may inflict fairly heavy damage unto those with low defenses. They also utilize their personal tech, SlashAll, rather frequently, which has the potential to inflict heavy damage onto all party members at one go.
Name Origin[edit | edit source]
Cupid, while being a symbol for Valentine's Day, first originated in Greek Traditions as Eros, the son of Aphrodite. Depicted with white-feathered wings, it is assumed Cupid is an angel, which may explain why this enemy is a White Element and why it potentially drops Winged Shoes.
