SunOfAGun is a boss fought in Chrono Cross. It is a mysterious object that appears to be a sun-shaped wheel attached to a human-like face. The party deactivates the White Crystal after defeating this boss.

Battle Strategy

The most important thing to note about this boss is that it uses the skill "ModeChange" (モード変化?). When he uses ModeChange, the SunOfAGun changes the expression on their face, which also changes their attack pattern. There are a total of four expressions and attack patterns, listed below:

Generally speaking, magic attacks tend to be much more effective against this boss than physical attacks due to his high defense. When he has a blank expression, he will always use HolyLight after using AntiBlack, making it easy to Trap the HolyLight element from this boss.

The Kissy-Wissy (くちつけ kuchitsuke?) attack he uses when he has a happy expression on his face does White-innate dmg on a single party member, and has a chance of inflicting the Asleep status.
