Pip (ツマル, Tumalu) is the latest lab experiment of Luccia. He is a creature that can evolve from combat experience in Chrono Cross.

Story

Pip possessed a working intellect and grasp of language after his creation, and only desired to see more of the world after being pent up in the lab. He was released by Serge on the night of the infiltration of Viper Manor, and made his way to the S.S. Invincible to broaden his horizons. Serge later found him there during the attack by the Ghost Ship; Pip joined the party, and began evolving. After Serge became Lynx, Pip joined the party immediately once more, noting that it's "the inside that counts..."

Pip has the unique abilty to "evolve" throughout the course of the game depending on what Elements are used by him and on him. Black, Red, or Yellow will turn him into a little devil; White, Green, or Blue will turn him into a little angel. Later on in the game he'll evolve again into ether an archdevil, an archangel, or if the Elements used by him and on him switch from Black, Red, or Yellow to White, Green, or Blue (Vice-Versa is also true), he'll turn into a Holy Beast (Butterfly). His final form will determine his Level 7 Tech Skill.

How to Recruit

While in Viper Manor (Another World) unlock Pip's cage in Luccia's lab. Later on in the game you'll find him on the S.S. Invincible. Talk to him and he'll join your party.
