In some instances, the Hit Rate or the damage of the afflicted character decreases while Poisoned. [[Player Character]] [[Tech]]s such [[Mix&Match]] or [[Bushbasher]], and [[:Category:Chrono Cross Enemy Techs|Enemy Techs]] such as [[PoisonGas]] cause the Poison status effect. In ''Chrono Trigger'', several purple bubbles appear over the head of the afflicted party member(s). In ''Chrono Cross'', [[Antidote]]s nullify the Poison status, while in ''Chrono Trigger'', [[Panacea]] {{altname|Heal}}, cures the ailment. Targets of healing spells such as [[Kiss]] or [[Cure]] do not recover from the status.
