The Dwarf Chieftain commands the dwarves and is respected as their leader. He principally decides their actions and battles, and probably oversees construction as well. When [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Serge.html Serge] attempted to kill the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Hydra.html Hydra] for [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Hydra_Humour.html Hydra Humour], the Dwarf Chieftain reached it first and ushered it to unleash its fury on the boy; eventually, it lay defeated, and the Dwarf Chieftain fled. He gathered up the other dwarves, who sailed to [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Water_Dragon_Isle.html Water Dragon Isle] and ransacked the village. When Serge arrived there as well, the Chieftain ridiculed him and battled him several times, eventually resorting to the [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Hi-Ho_Tank.html Hi-Ho Tank] in a last ditch attempt to hold them off. He lost again; while cursing the humans, [http://www.chronocompendium.com/Term/Razzly.html Razzly] let him know that a baby Hydra still existed in the marshes. The Chieftain noted that he would take his men back to the marshes to care for the baby and atone for the sins they committed on the island.

In all probability, he perished while defending the Hydra years earlier.http://
As with other Dwarves of his ilk, he is short and stout. Wearing a huge helmet and wielding a shovel as a weapon, the Chieftan also sports an uncharacteristically warty nose, an indicator of his age in contrast to the others.

Searching the Marshes for [[Hydra Humour]], [[Serge]] and his friends encounter the Dwarf Chieftain, who alongside two [[Daffy Dwarf|Daffy Dwarves]] and three [[Daggy Dwarf|Daggy Dwarves]], forbids them from slaying their beloved [[Hydra]] to acquire the remedy.

Prior to this event, he sailed to [[Water Dragon Isle]] to ransack the fairy village there. It was the Dwarf Chieftain who planned to kidnap [[Razzly]]'s sister, [[Rosetta]], bring her underground, and beat her due to an unexplained prejudice with this winged subspecies of [[Demi-human]]. When Serge arrived there, the Chieftain ridiculed him and forced them into battles, eventually resorting to the [[Hi-Ho Tank]] in a last ditch attempt to prevent the [[Human]] incursion and to reap vengeance for the death of the Hydra. Had Razzly been saved from the [[Pentapus]] and present during the battle, she informs the Chieftain that, within the Hydra's womb, babies still resided, ready to be born and replenish the endangered species. To atone the brutal invasion of the Water Dragon Isle, Razzly suggests they tend to these infantile lizards in the Marshes, to which they eagerly accept.
