When the three heroes have the Moon Stone, after defeating [[Son of the Sun]], they take it to the Shrine in 65000000 BC and it stays there, until the Mayor of Porre in 1000 AD takes it. After the three heroes change the mayor to becoming more sharing, they get the Moon Stone from him, and take it back to the Sun Shrine, until the Future.

The Sun Shrine is a location that appears in all time eras of Chrono Trigger. The Sun Shrine plays a role during an optional part of the game. If the heroes acquire the Moon Stone, it can be recharged in the Sun Shrine.

Description

The Sun Shrine is a small cave located on the North-eastern section of all maps. Inside, there is a small set of stairs leading to a pedestal bathed in light. The interior indicates there is a small hole that allows sunlight inside.

Gameplay

After defeating Son of the Sun, the heroes will acquire the Moon Stone. The Moon Stone can be recharged by leaving it in the Sun Shrine from Prehistory until 2300 AD. The problem occurs in 1000 AD when someone takes the stone. It winds up in the hands of the Mayor of Porre. He won't give you the stone back. However, you can travel to 600 AD to speak to his ancestor. If you give her some Spiced Jerky for free, she'll make sure her children grow up generous. As a result of the change in the past, the Mayor in 1000 AD is happy to return the stone.

Finally, the heroes return the Moon Stone to the Sun Shrine. After travelling to 2300 AD, the heroes will find the Sun Stone.
