While never engaging the party in combat, these rats will steal one [[Potion]] should they collide with a party member. Once a Potion is stolen, the rats generally disappear from the map until the area is revisited. Beneath the [[Arris Dome]], a Rat poses as a statue on the rafters before the food storage area. Attached to the creature is a memo, warning the player about the [[Guardian]] that attacks those who attempt to thieve the food supply. Recovering the [[Seed|seed]] from the corpse in the storage room, [[Crono]] discovers the statue is, in fact, an animate being and must catch it in order to retrieve the password that allows him access to the other subterranean areas of the Dome. Along with the rats found in the [[Abandoned Sewers]], the rats in the following hallways of the underground tunnel-way engage Crono and his friends in battle.
