Manolia Cathedral is a cathedral in 600 AD near Guardia Castle. At first, it appears to be an innocuous cathedral adjacent to a convent. It is revealed to be a Fiend front base from which they conduct their guerilla warfare upon Guardia Castle. Manolia Cathedral is the first major dungeon in Chrono Trigger.

The Fiend Yakra, disguised as the Chancellor of Guardia, is in control of the cathedral, and holds Queen Leene and the real chancellor captive there after kidnapping them. When Crono, Lucca and Frog discover this, they defeat Yakra and set the prisoners free.
If the player listens through the wall of the King's Bedroom in Guardia Castle, it is revealed that the Chancellor is harboring the missing Queen Leene in a secret room hidden in the cathedral. A maid in the castle also describes the place as not being quite right.

The cathedral is destroyed in the war or sometime soon thereafter, as its location has been overgrown by Guardia Forest in 1000 AD.
So Lucca and Crono enter, hoping to save the queen, only to find pews full of nuns. If these nuns are spoken to, they describe Crono and Lucca as "delicious-looking humans". An ominous precusor.

Hidden Naga Bromide can be found through the door at the top of the left staircase. Search the set of drawers on the left and if you haven't beaten the dungeon yet, prepare for a fight.
A shimmer on the floor near the altar turns out to be the Queen's coral pin, a object she guards with her life. Immediately after this discovery, the nuns unveil themselves as Naga-ettes. After the play destroys them, another appears, slain immediately by an anthropomorphic frog, appropriately named Frog. The sword-slinging amphibian is guardian to Leene and asks the party to join him in his search for her. Lucca is terrified of him at first, but eventually agrees. By playing the organ on the lefthand wall, the player can access the rest of the cathedral.

The proceeding halls are lined with Diablos, Naga-ettes, Bats and other surprises.

The Fiend Yakra, disguised as the Chancellor of Guardia, is in control of the cathedral and it's monsterous inhabitants, and holds Queen Leene and the real chancellor captive there after kidnapping them. When Crono, Lucca and Frog discover this, they defeat Yakra and set the prisoners free.

The cathedral is destroyed in the war or sometime soon thereafter, as its location has been overgrown by Guardia Forest in 1000 AD. It is possible the cathedral could have been destroyed as a result of being tainted by Fiends.

Hidden Naga Bromide can be found through the door at the top of the left staircase. Search the set of drawers on the left and if you haven't beaten the dungeon yet, prepare for a fight. Later, the Naga Bromide can be exchanged for a Magic Capsule.

One room in the Cathedral contains a decoy Commander, a decoy Leene, and a decoy Chancellor. When spoke to, they claim Yarka is pleasant company and that there was never a kidnapping. They change into their true forms and attack when the player attempts to exit the room. Along the right wall of that room is a hidden corridor containing several monsters, worshipping a statue of Magus. Beside the statue are two treasure chests. One contains an ether, the other contains a Speed Belt.
