'''Johnny''' is a fast-talking, speed-racing robot of Lab 32. He's always looking for a good opponent and basks in the compliments he receives from his Proto 2 fan club. Sporting a mohawk and sunglasses, he's self-absorbed and highly competitive. When Crono and the party attempted to use the Jetbike to cross the ruins, Johnny confronted the group and permitted them to use the bike on the condition that they race. Should the party lose, they will be met with various put downs from '''THE MAN''', as his fans call him. Beating him merely increases his desire to ride again.

While his characterization is somewhat shallow in Chrono Trigger, it's made much more in-depth through the Chrono Trigger OAV. Johnny's up to his old tricks in racing and loving the attention he gets, but a few surprises await -- in the form of a rampant Gato, an absent-minded Nu, and a hyperactive Poyozo. Of special mention is his haiku shortly before he's injured.

The robots call him "Bro", though he says to the party that they can call him Johnny. He says that he is the leader of the robots they encountered and that the ruined highway ahead of them is the only road they can go on. He says that if they want to get through Site 32, then they will have to race against him. He says that he will let them use the jetbike that is sitting nearby because "that's the kinda guy" he is. Once they beat him, they are free to exit Site 32.

Johnny makes a cameo in Chrono Cross. His broken body can be seen along the roadside in the [[Dead Sea]] near the [[Highwayman]].

Johnny is a character that appears in Chrono Trigger and briefly in Chrono Cross.

Chrono Trigger

When Crono, Marle, and Lucca arrive at Site 32, they see a jetbike and try using it. At this, some robots appear and are about to fight the party before being stopped by Johnny.
