During the events of [[Chronopolis]] it is revealed that Belthasar is in fact the one responsible for and in charge of [[Project Kid]]. Also as the keeper of Chronopolis, Belthasar is also the guardian of the [[Frozen Flame]], protecting it from the clutches of the [[Dragon God|dragons]]. While his presence isn't always there, he certainly proves to be an extremely important asset to Chrono Cross, especially toward the end of the journey.
