Melchior, known in Japan as Bosch (ボッシュ Bosshu?), also known as the Guru of Life, is one of the three Gurus that lived during the Antiquity. Melchior was teleported to the Present.
He lives in a hut south of Heckran Cave on the East Continent. From there, he constructs weapons, armor, and magical items. He brings his goods to the Millennial Fair in Leene Square, where he first meets Crono and his friends.
Melchior forged the magical sword Masamune thousands of years ago. When Crono and friends discover its broken fragments in the Middle Ages, they find his name inscribed on the hilt. He helps them by reforging the shards of the Masamune so that Frog can use it to assault Magus' fortress.
