My father was Richard Highwind, who was Commander of the Dragoons. My father died when I was a child. The King of Baron raised me along with Cecil.
When I was offered by the King to become a Dark Knight like Cecil I refused and became a Dragoon instead ("I was just following in my father's footsteps"). Soon I became a Commander of the Baron Dragoons

"Cecil, Rosa. I cannot bring myself to face you both, not yet. I must test myself as you did, Cecil, at Mt. Ordeals. I will train until I've surpassed my father as a Dragoon. When that time comes, then I shall return to Baron."
