it seems every instance of the unstable gates is tied to the dreamstone in some way. marle's pendant is made out of dreamstone, charged with the teleporter's energy, frog's masamune is made out of dreamstone, charged with magical energy while fighting magus, and the mammon machine itself it made out of dreamstone and charged with lavos's energy, and its awakening might've been responsible for opening the gates that sent janus and the gurus away. dreamstone and gates[edit source]
