| The Man-At-Arms is an enemy fought in Chrono Cross. Men-At-Arms take on the appearance of a headless suit of armor, and do not possess physical bodies. They also wield swords as their weapons of choice and a demonic face is emblazoned on their chest pieces. These re-animated suits of armor can be found in the armory of Viper Manor (Another World, and will only come to life when the party places the Decor Shield onto the armor display which is, incidentally, lacking a shield. Men-At-Arms can be trapped in the Forget-Me-Not Pot and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg.

| ==Battle and Strategy==
| |
| Men-At-Arms usually appear alone, flanked by four Man-Of-Wars. They attack by first running up to their foes before swiftly slicing their swords in a horizontal direction, dealing fairly heavy damage in the process. Man-At-Arms are also capable of utilizing a fairly huge range of Black elements, such as HellSoul and Revenge. They also possess a special tech, BlackRain, which allows them to both inflict fairly heavy damage and the Cursed status at all their foes. In general, Men-At-Arms can prove to be quite a challenge to the under-leveled, and as such, caution should be exercised when facing off against them.

| ==Name Origin==
| |
| Man-at-arms (also called armsman or coistrel) was a term used from the High Medieval to Renaissance periods to describe a soldier, almost always a professional warrior in the sense of being well-trained in the use of arms, who served as a fully armored heavy cavalryman. In this case, the Man-At-Arms enemy is a supposed 'general', leading Man-Of-Wars into battle. Coupled with the fact that the spiritual nature of the Man-At-Arms implies that it could have once been a warrior in a time long forgotten, the name of said enemy is hence a befitting one.
