They appear as tiny reptilian creatures with long flappy ears covered in red scales, while yellow scales along their neck and head, blue scales along the center and tail, and green scales on their feet and thighs. [[Kiki]], a young girl originating from [[Arni]] ([[Home World]]), is known to keep a Komodo Pup as a pet, which she affectionately named "Celine".

==Battle and Strategy==
Before the dimensions split between [[Home World]] and [[Another World]], [[Leena]] asks [[Serge]] to craft her a necklace from the [[Komodo Scale|scales of these creatures]]. Traveling to [[Lizard Rock]], he finds three pups and must employ the techniques he learned from the "Komodo Pup Wrangler" in [[Arni]]. One Pup must be tricked into entering a tunnel sealed with a rock. Another Pup must be chased around a pond until it tires and allows itself to be caught. A third Pup must be jumped on from an overhead cliff. The first and third pups flee if the trap is not set up properly. Komodo Pups generally travel in pairs, sometimes accompanied by [[SandSquirt]]s, [[Beach Bum]]s, or a combination of both. Defeating one such group will relinquish one rare and popular Komodo Scale, with a total of three groups having to be defeated altogether. After battling the final group, their mother, [[Mama Komodo]], will promptly emerge afterwards to take revenge upon Serge for harming her offspring. 

In Another World, Komodo Pups are more aggressive, with one possessing the guts, ironically, to leap down onto the party from the exact same cliff the party was originally supposed to leap down from in Home World.

In [[Viper Manor]], [[PortalGheist]]s summon Komodo Pups, along with [[Bulb]]s, from the depths of their doors when their [[Hit Point]]s reach a critical low.

==Name Origin==
''Pup'' is a word used to describe a type of animal youngling, while ''Komodo'' is likely a reference to {{w|Komodo dragon}}s, real-life lizards with similar features. 

The Japanese name of the Komodo Pup, ''Large Lizard Child'', is more literal, whereby the Komodo Pup's species is referred to as "Large Lizards". Coupled with the fact that Komodo Pups are basically the children of these "Large Lizards", the name is hence a befitting one.
