During battle, Beach Bums generally attack with normal physical blows, throwing in the occasional [[AquaBall]], an excessively over-powered [[Element]] for an enemy encountered early on in the game. BeachBums prefer to travel in pairs or completely alone, but they sometimes pair up with [[Opah Fish]] or [[SandSquirt]].

BeachBums prefer to travel in pairs or completely alone, but they sometimes pair up with [[Opah Fish]] or [[SandSquirt]]. They may utilize their special techs, namely, [[MakeWaves]] and [[Surf'sUp]], occasionally when provoked, with the latter of said techs capable of bringing about the [[Flu]] status effect.
