The Opah Fish is an enemy fought in Chrono Cross. Opah Fish have orange-colored bodies, coupled with yellow-colored underbellies. A fleshy growth hangs downwards from their heads, ending in a yellow-colored, oblong-shaped orb at the tip, and they also possess a total of eight quill-like fins and a tail, all of which are rainbow-colored. Opah Fish can be commonly found roaming about in the outskirts of Lizard Rock (Another), with a group of them rapidly circling a particular lagoon in said location. Opah Fish can be trapped in the Forget-Me-Not Pot and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg.

Battle and Strategy
Opah Fish generally appear in either twos or threes, and are sometimes accompanied by SandSquirts or Beach Bums. They attack by either swishing their fins at their foes or by head-butting said foes, causing fairly heavy damage in the process. In addition to their physical attacks, Opah Fish are also known to utilize a huge range of Red elements, of which they use Fireball the most frequently. On the whole, Opah Fish pose quite a challenge to players new to the game in general, and a proper strategy should be fleshed out when facing them in battle.

Name Origin
The Japanese name of this enemy, Mino Lantern, takes its origins from the city of Mino in the Mino area of Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Mino City is specifically known for its production of traditional Japanese paper, which is commonly used in Japan to make paper lanterns.

Trivia
*Opah (also commonly known as moonfish, sunfish, kingfish, redfin ocean pan, and Jerusalem haddock) are large, colorful, deep-bodied pelagic Lampriform fish comprising the small family Lampridae (also spelled Lamprididae). However, while the Opah Fish enemy are most certainly large and colorful, their designs closely resemble that of the Anglerfish.
*Even though Opah Fish are clearly modeled after a known aquatic creature. and should, technically, possess an innate color matching this (Blue), ironically enough, they are of a Red innate instead.
