Volcano (Location) is a location within the Present Dimensional Vortex, exclusive to Chrono Trigger (DS). It is the exclusive, set location of said vortex, reached after going through five random rooms generated from previous dungeons explored throughout the game. After getting through the Volcano, the party will reach the Twilight Grotto (a checkpoint of sorts with a Save Point, and a Gate to go back to the era from which the player came), where they will fight the stray Once-King Dalton; and then the Steel Shade, the shadow clone of Crono, in the Leene Square Dreamscape, a sepia-filtered place reminiscent of Leene Square. The player will be forced to include Crono in the party for this battle.

- Even though there isn't anyone in any of the Dimensional Vortex dungeons, there are buttons that regulate lava levels and a ladder, the latter rightfully dubbed the "Crater Surveillance Ladder".
