Bosses fought Crimson Shade, Eggsterminator

Temporal Research Lab is a location within the Future Dimensional Vortex, exclusive to Chrono Trigger (DS). It is the exclusive, set location of said vortex, reached after going through five random rooms generated from previous dungeons explored throughout the game (and a couple of new, exclusive ones). After getting through the Temporal Research Lab, the party will reach the Twilight Grotto (a checkpoint of sorts with a Save Point, and a Gate to go back to the era from which the player came), where they will fight the Crimson Shade, the shadow clone of Lucca, and its accompanying Eggsterminator, in the Household Dreamscape, a sepia-filtered room reminiscent of Lucca's Room. The player will be forced to include Lucca in the party for this battle.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

In the second room, which consists of a one-way conveyor belt maze plagued with Searchers, you'll find a note that reads: "The Director of Research ought to have the security lock release code written down somewhere in this room. He's a strange one, though, always writting in codes and what have you. Knowing him, he probably wrote it down backwards." In that same room is the Director of Research's note, which reads: "Security lock release code: LLAB I picked it because, well... I like things that are round." The lower-right corner of the room also hides passage to a room identical to the Millennia Wood. This code (BALL) must be input in the upper far left end of the room to the left, (if on mobile the hint is “tomato” and you must press red when prompted by the control module) in which the player must avoid the patrolling Prototypes that move in rectangle patterns. If they're seen, they'll be sent back to the beginning of the room, not without first having to fight two of them. Once the code is input and the party makes their way back to the beginning of the room, they'll be locked in, and three of the party members on standby will step in.

Starting in the conveyor belt room, head to the room to the right, that consists of another maze, this time of one-way teleporters. On the first intersection, head to the left teleporter to find a Magic Capsule and continue to go back to the beginning of the room. From there, head right in the intersection, then to the far right, then down, then right to find the Regal Plate, and continue to go back to the beginning of the room. Now, go right, far right, down, and up to proceed. The new party will have to fight, in this order and with no rest in between: a Searcher, a Prototype, two Searchers, two Prototypes, and an Iron Maiden.

The first party will take over. Head to the lower far left of the room; and, once inside, thread carefully to avoid the intermittent sparks and beat the recurring enemies.
