Black Plate (Chrono Cross) is an armor in Chrono Cross which can be equipped by all characters. When worn it aborbs black elements, giving HP to the wearer, but in exchange it makes the wearer more vulnerable to white elemental damage. The only one in the game can be acquired as a rare steal from the Black Dragon in Marbule (Another World).

Notes

In Chrono Cross, the Black Plate is extremely beneficial to Riddel in the fight against Dario when he is under the influence of the Masamune. Dario's Tech attacks are absorbed, causing her to be healed instead of damaged. Fargo has one chance to steal the Black Plate from the Black Dragon.
