MoonShine (月護 , Tsuki mamoru, lit. Protection of the Moon?) is a tech used in Chrono Cross. After receiving 15 boss stars, Harle gains the ability to raise the defense of the entire party by 20% and decrease magic damage by 25%.

Balancing on one leg, Harle spreads out her arms, with her left one raised behind her back, and her right one stretched in front of her. As she does this, a crimson gibbous moon appears in the background, with white sparkles twinkling around Harle. As the moon disappears with the sparkles, translucent shields materialize in front of each party member momentarily before disappearing.
Etymology[edit | edit source]
Ironically, Moonshine is a type of distilled beverage with excessively high alcohol content. Its use here seems more literal, but may be a pun of that beverage.
