Master Hammer (マスターハンマー masutā hamma?) is a weapon in Chrono Cross. Like the Great Hammer, it can only be equipped by Zappa and Funguy. It is obtainable by buying it for 10,000 G from a man wearing blue in Marbule (Home World) after the town has been restored (he's found in the cave where the Black Dragon was fought in Another World).
Unlike most weapons, the Master Hammer is simply bought in exchange for gold, not created using both gold and materials. It can also be used in the creation of Rainbow/Prism equipment.
It can be disassembled for 1 Bone, 1 Copper, 1 Iron, 1 Mythril, 1 Denadorite, 1 Eyeball, 1 Fang, and 1 Screw.
Using the Master Hammer to make Prism equipment[edit | edit source]
The Master Hammer cannot just be used as a weapon, but is also necessary for making Prism/Rainbow equipment from Rainbow Shells and Shiny Materials, which are generally the strongest weapons and armor in the game.
To make Rainbow equipment, take Zappa to his counterpart in Another World's Termina, and if you have the Master Hammer and a Rainbow Shell in your posession, you will now be able to create Prism equipment either in Another World's Termina or by using the Smithy Spirit.
