JitterBug (小虫乱舞 , Ko mushi ranbu, lit. Wild Dance of the Small Bugs?) is a Blue Enemy Tech used by the Roachester in Chrono Cross. This tech allows the Roachester to send its offspring to flutter around all foes randomly, inflicting mediocre amounts of damage.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Roachester will bend down, whereupon the little bugs on its back begin to flutter into the air. They will then gather together and glide towards all foes present on-screen, whereupon they will begin to flutter about in random directions. Red sparks appear each time a bug comes into contact with a foe's body. After knocking all foes onto the ground, the bugs will then flutter back to the Roachester's back.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Jitterbug was a type of swing-dancing developed in the 1940's. The dance received its name due to the wild and swift movements dancers perform while doing it.
