The Green Imp (ジャリー・緑 Jyarī – Midori?) is an enemy in Chrono Trigger that first appears in Truce Canyon in 600 A.D. This Imp can also be seen in Medina Village in 1000 A.D., and Ozzie's Fort in 600 A.D., but not in combat. They are a low-ranking Fiend, and one of the weaker monsters in the game.

Battle Strategy[edit | edit source]

Visually, they appear very similar to the Blue Imp, but don't let appearances deceive, as they are actually a fair bit stronger than their blue-skinned relatives, having over double the HP (32 HP compared to the Blue Imp's pathetic 13 HP) which means they are quite a bit more resilient, and also means they actually have a very good chance of getting to use their counter attack when encountered early in the game.

With that said, they are not a difficult encounter by any means, doing about the same amount of damage as the Blue Imp (about 5 damage on a level 1 Crono with starting equipment) but can nevertheless do a decent amount of damage before being eliminated if Crono is low leveled and still using his starting equipment due to their increased resilience and counter attacks.

They possess two forms of attack: the Jump Kick and Pebble Punt are their regular attack, and the Jump Kick is their counter attack. Both are single target physical attacks. Note that when they are sticking their tongues out in derision at the screen/party, this means they are preparing to use their Pebble Punt attack, though it doesn't appear to be any stronger than the Jump Kick.
