Description Use your opponent as a piece of drawing paper

Doodle (らくがき Rakugaki?) is a tech used in Chrono Cross. Learned after acquiring 19 boss stars, Mel literally transforms a desired target into drawing paper, with which she uses a brush to scribble and scrawl on. This tech inflicts the Dizzy status on the target as well, on top of the damage it sustains.

Description[edit | edit source]

Mel charges towards the enemy before leaping into the air. While still in mid-air, the target is dyed a white color, the color of blank paper. Mel is then observed to use a paint-brush to doodle a picture of herself and two pink-colored flowers on the target. Upon completion, Mel then jumps up and down twice before pausing to admire her 'masterpiece'. As she leaps back to her starting position, the picture disappears and damage is dealt to the target accordingly.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

In the Chrono Cross Ultimania book (only released in Japan), it is stated in the "Key Word" section on the page concerning Mel that her hobby is to "Doodle" pictures. Whenever she has any free time, she'll often hole up in her room and do nothing but draw. The Ultimania book proceeds to note that she even put this hobby of hers to use in battle using the Doodle tech, and speculates (perhaps jokingly) that it may do damage to enemies because of the "painful" quality of her drawings.
