The Blue Imp (ジャリー・青 Jyarī - Ao?) is an enemy that appears in Truce Canyon in the Middle Ages. This Imp can also be seen as a non-hostile NPC in Medina Village in the Present. They are amongst the lower ranks of the Fiends, and are some of the weakest enemies in the game.

Appearances in Truce Canyon[edit | edit source]

When first visiting Truce Canyon (and by extension, the Middle Ages), a forced battle will commence when attempting to leave the first screen against three Blue Imps who ambush Crono from the bushes. Two of them are also dropped down by the Imp Hawk when crossing the bridge to the left (the Imp Hawk does not join the battle, and can only be fought slightly later in the game). Both of these battles only occur when first visiting Truce Canyon and the Middle Ages, though a battle with a Blue Imp and Imp Hawk occurs later in the game when visiting this area.

Two of them can also be seen at the base of Truce Canyon playing a game of kickball with a Roundillo - if ignored, players can run right by them, but if the lead party member runs in to them, a battle will start with the three fiends. Unlike the aforementioned encounters with this enemy, they can be fought again throughout the first visit to 600 AD, but on later visits to the Middle Ages these two Blue Imps are replaced with Green Imps.

Battle Strategy[edit | edit source]

They primarily attack using the single target physical attacks Kick and Jump Kick, and also counter physical attacks with Pebble Punt. Possessing a mere 13 HP and doing mediocre damage they should not be difficult to eliminate simply by using physical attacks - even a level 1 Crono using his starting equipment should do more than enough damage (around 15 - 17 at level 1 using the Wooden Sword) to defeat them in a single strike, while taking only a small amount of damage (about 4 or 5) per attack. Due to how weak they are, most players will probably never even see their counter attack Pebble Punt.
