Note that it is possible to win all three rounds of the Grand Slam tournament (and therefore, recruiting Janice to the party) using the small pool of starting monsters that Sprigg has when she initially joins the party, though this makes winning the Grand Slam tournament much more difficult (and somewhat luck based) then if one were to simply acquire a few stronger monsters.
