A group of neighbours and friends got together under sunny skies on Saturday afternoon for a campfire and shinny hockey game near Rushy Pond in Grand Falls-Windsor. One of a number of places you can go to enjoy some snowy activities in central Newfoundland is Rafting Newfoundland, which along with many summer activities, offers snowshoeing and snowmobiling tours during the winter months.

Is there really a plan? - Roger Pike View comments3 Last month the province's Minister responsible for business visited Grand Falls-Windsor to deliver a strong message. He is quoted in this paper as saying "the best is yet to come for central Newfoundland." I sincerely hope he's right.

Paul Oram was on hand for the Exploits Regional Chamber of Commerce Business Awards held at the Canadian Legion. While he was not specific on government's plans for the region, Minister Oram was quick to point out the importance of the Exploits Valley and Grand Falls-Windsor to the province as a whole. Not-so-sober second thought View comments1 There was a time in this country when the Senate was a place where people with wisdom to provide "sober second thought" on legislative matters and items decided on in the House of Commons debated the usefulness of those matters and made them law.

It seems that is no longer the case.
