It is the first track on the second disk from the [[Chrono Trigger Original Sound Version|original soundtrack]]. As the third world map theme for ''Chrono Trigger'', it plays during the [[Future]]. The title, "A Desolate World" perfectly describes the decayed state of the land, the lack of foliage across all continents, the imminent and everlasting snowstorm, and the corroding domes that were once shimmering metropolises. The song plays within [[Arris Dome]], [[Bangor Dome]], [[Trann Dome]], [[Proto Dome]], and the [[Hallowed Falls]] of the [[Dimensional Vortex]] (exclusively in the [[Chrono Trigger DS|DS release]]).
