— Porre SGT

The Porre SGT is an enemy fought in Chrono Cross. Dressed in a navy-blue uniform alongside a grey-colored guerilla vest, Porre SGTs wields bayonet rifles as their weapons of choice. They also wear helmets which obscure the most part of their heads, save for their noses and mouths. First encountered as an NPC in Viper Manor of Home World (but only fought once in Viper Manor in Another World), these enemies are high-ranking soldiers from the city of Porre.

Porre SGTs can be captured and added to the pool of Doppelgangs performed by Sprigg - but they are only fought once per playthrough, so if you want to get them, make sure to bring Sprigg along and let her deliver the finishing blow to this enemy while in her normal form (the Forget-Me-Not Pot is not available yet during this section on the first playthrough of the game, though it can be used on subsequent playthorughs with New Game +). Your last chance to change party members before fighting this enemy is the save point in the prison cell room just before the Hell's Cook boss.

Battle and Strategy[edit | edit source]

Porre SGTs usually appear alone, flanked by two to four Porre PVTs. They attack by either firing a few shots of ammunition or utilizing their rifle blades to slash their foes. These physical attacks allow Porre SGTs to inflict fairly heavy damage upon their foes. They are also able to use a small range of elements, such as Cure and Ninety-Nine. Players should be wary of the Porre SGTs' ability to use Ninety-Nine, as this will temporarily raise their physical attack hit percentages drastically, allowing them to inflict more damage to their foes. Porre SGTs also possess a unique tech of their own, which is that of BayonetPlus. BayonetPlus is basically an upgraded version of BayonetGun, allowing Porre SGTs to inflict heavier amounts of damage upon their foes.
